January 2019 Grants
The Operation Round Up Trust Board met on January 21 and awarded the following grants for the first quarter of 2019:
Fish Lake Township, Harris, MN: $500 to help with the purchase of a fireproof file cabinet, protecting historical documents in case of a fire.
Foley Area C.A.R.E: $5,000 was awarded for the Community Senior Project outreach to help volunteers cover gas expenses as they visit elderly community members who continue to live independently.
Isanti County Commission on Aging: $1,000 was awarded to facilitate the purchase of updated computer equipment.
Milaca Fine Arts Council: $1,000 was awarded to help cover the cost of hiring musical entertainment for the Concerts in the Park Summer series.
Old Brule Heritage Society, Poplar, WI: $1,500 was awarded to assist with the Blueberry Depot restoration project.
St. John's Lutheran Church, Rush City, MN: $750 was awarded to support the purchase of an AED unit.
University of MN Extension Pine County Master Gardeners: $2,000 was awarded to relieve the cost of fencing for the community garden imporvement project.
Community Service award total: $11,750
Education and Youth
Braham Area Schools Prom Committee: $1,000 was awarded to help cover costs of entertainment and decorations.
Hinckley-Finlayson Food for Kids: $2,000 was awarded support the backpack food program for children in need.
Superior Area Lacrosse, High School Girls: $2,000 was awarded to assist with purchasing uniforms, safety equipment, video equipment, and/or training aids.
